Letters from our Chairman and our President

First of all, thank you for taking the time to read about Mannington and the environment. We know many users of our website do not seek out this section, but we're glad to see these numbers increasing. It is heartening to see the environment becoming a greater priority. We have been thinking about it for a long time and quietly working to do our part for a long time.

This section of the website includes some information about our environmental philosophy, but it also has information about the actions we are taking. We have a mantra that says "actions speak" and on these pages you'll find things that we're actually doing. There's a lot of what is called greenwash going on in the world of environmental communications. We don't have any time for that and suspect that you're not much interested in it either.

I'd like to invite you to check back here periodically. We'll update this site as we continue to make improvements in both our products and processes. And, if you happen to get to any industry tradeshows such as Neocon or GreenBuild we'd like you to stop by and visit us. We'd be happy to speak with you there about how our actions speak.

Sincerely,

Tom Davis, President and CEO

When my great grandfather founded our flooring company in 1915, he could hardly have imagined the success Mannington Mills would achieve, much less the complex environmental issues we would face in the next millennium. However, he would recognize the values we use to meet every challenge.

That's because we still maintain the very same ideals that guided his actions and decisions. Our legacy is one of loyalty and concern for all those associated with Mannington - from our associates, to our customers and neighbors. Values such as these don't change. But the fact is we must also think of generations to come.

We have to make certain that as we continue to grow we do not compromise future generations' ability to meet their own needs. We simply must think further ahead and evaluate even more thoroughly and comprehensively the consequences of what we do. This is our clear responsibility as one of the world's largest and most diverse flooring manufactures - and a responsibility we accept. This perspective aligns closely with our business interests as well as our understanding of sustainability.

As part of this responsibility, our company has committed to continual environmental improvement. We are constantly exploring ways to improve our products and manufacturing technologies to reduce our environmental footprint, increase resource efficiency, cut waste, and improve the use of recycled materials. Innovation has long been a strength and core competency at Mannington, and it is more so today. We've won significant recognition for our efforts to date and we've forged strong partnerships with other businesses, government agencies, and groups focused on environmental protection.

I'm proud of what the entire Mannington team has achieved so far on our environmental journey, but we have exciting challenges to meet. We will meet them. Why? Because it's critical to our business success, to stay true to our values, and to grow our legacy for our customers, employees, communities and stakeholders.

I hope you, as a Mannington stakeholder, will read about and follow our achievements and ambitions. I trust you will contact us with any questions, concerns or ideas that might further our efforts. We share your interests in protecting the environment for today and the future.

Sincerely,

Keith Campbell, Chairman
