Our stand on values
Since our start as a small felt-based flooring company in Salem, N.J., we have held to
a few basic rules of thumb: professional management, sound business practices, and strong
values. Our founder and his descendants held to these beliefs through devastating fires,
the Great Depression, two world wars, numerous setbacks and period of incredible innovation
and growth. And you can bet that we hold onto them just as firmly today.
We believe in always doing the right thing. We care about one another and encourage an
environment of fairness. Our Total Rewards Package complements these beliefs and helps
us create a terrific working environment for our associates. We also provide and promote
training and development, as well as challenging opportunities. As a result, our turnover
rates are remarkably low and that makes us proud.
Our stand on our reputation
We hope that our reputation will always do the talking for us. We're proud of the fact
that within the flooring industry, we are fortunate to be thought of as the best overall
manufacturer. We're also known as a major innovator and trendsetter in both styling and
design. Over the years we've been recognized with a number of awards that tell us that
our efforts are right on target. And we also work hard to be known not only as the best
people to work with, but also the best people to work for. We are an equal employment
opportunity and affirmative action employer, and we are committed to the principles of
providing equal opportunity to qualified individuals.
Our stand on our personality
It's easy to claim a personality. It's another thing to live it. At Mannington, we've
always defined our personality by the five "Fs." We are focused on what matters most to
our customers and to ourselves. We are fast in responding to this ever-changing world,
yet flexible to better serve our customers. You will find fun and friendly people here –
the kind of folks who are easy to do business with and whose enthusiasm you can't help
but catch. And you will find that in all aspects of our business, we foster a family
attitude. In short, we wear our personality on our rolled up sleeves and on our open and
friendly faces.
Our stand on the environment
Above all else, we believe in doing the right thing. For our community. For our
environment. And for the future. We work, live and play in this community, and we
care about being a good neighbor. On a daily basis, we actively and openly work with
regulators and agencies. We not only meet regulations, in some cases, we even exceed
them. And we believe in actions, not in lip service.
We're also proud of the awards received for environmental excellence – they're proof
that we're making smart choices. Our goal is to continuously improve our environmental
performance. And that is a promise we will keep.
Our stand on the community
Being a part of a community isn't just having an address there; it's being a caring,
involved corporate citizen and good neighbor. We actively support a large number of
different organizations with hands, hearts and wallets. You'll see our associates
delivering meals to seniors, volunteering with young people, raising a roof, installing
floors and helping to preserve our environment. Being an active part of our community
is simply a part of who we are.
A few of the organizations we support include:
- United Way
- American Cancer Society
- American Heart Association
- Boy Scouts of America/Girl Scouts of America
- Habitat for Humanity
- Junior Achievement
- Meals on Wheels
- The Nature Conservancy
- Chamber of Commerce
- American Legion Special Olympics

A history of standing tall
Mannington then and now
Mannington is a story of a family. A family determined to be the best manufacturers of
flooring and the best employer possible. A family set on living by their values and
staying true to the mission of always doing the right thing. In a world today where
only 2 in 10 family-owned companies make it to the second generation, and fewer than 2
in 100 make it to the third, we are on our fourth generation of leadership. With a
fifth ready to come into their own. We believe that with continuity comes stability
and opportunity. This is the vision that started back in 1915 and lives today.
