Mannington on HGTV’s Rock the Block: Surprise Bedroom Challenge
After spending episodes four and five of Rock the Block focusing on the outdoor areas of their homes, the designers headed back indoors in episode six to take on a surprise challenge. This week, the teams were tasked with turning a guest suite on the second floor of their homes into a dual-purpose space in just 48 hours.
The episode started out in a warehouse space where the designers had a limited amount of time to select the furniture and other materials they needed to create their multi-functional spaces. Each team’s bedroom space in this episode features the same Mannington ADURA® luxury vinyl flooring they used in episodes one, two, and three. Let’s see how their floors looked in their new guest suites!
Team 1: Page & Mitch
Page and Mitch chose to turn their guest suite into a bedroom that doubles as a cozy but functional social media creation room. With Mokuzai luxury vinyl in Autumn Leaf on the floors, part of Mannington’s ADURA®APEX collection, Page and Mitch added some dark walls, a computer desk, and a daybed that would be a perfect place to rest or to record podcasts and videos.
Team 2: Keith & Evan
In Keith and Evan’s house, they turned their guest suite into a bedroom that also serves as a meditation room. With Kona luxury vinyl flooring in Sunrise, part of the ADURA®Max family, as their base, Keith and Evan painted the walls brown, created some custom artwork, and made some built-in storage to frame the art. They also brought in some texture with rugs and used wallpaper to create a beautiful focal point in the room. Focusing on symmetry and balance was a key priority to help them create a calming atmosphere.
Team 3: Lyndsay & Leslie
Lyndsay and Leslie took on the challenge of creating a music studio/bedroom. Since good acoustics are essential in this type of space, they used acoustic panels to make a stylish and functional focal point of the room. Their guest suite had a warm and cozy atmosphere, complete with Sonoma luxury vinyl flooring in Cork from Mannington’s ADURA®Max line, a built-in desk, a fun wallpaper accent, and guitars in wall-mounted shadow boxes.
Team 4: Bryan & Sarah
The guest suite in Bryan and Sarah’s home was transformed into a chic craft room that also works as a bedroom suitable for young children. With Swiss Oak luxury vinyl in Truffle from the ADURA®Max collection on the floor, Bryan and Sarah brought in some molding for texture on the walls, a craft table, and wall-mounted shelving.
Wondering which team won? You’ll have to tune in to find out. Rock the Block airs Monday nights at 9:00 PM Eastern. Can’t watch it live? Episodes are also available to stream on Max.
