Mannington Makeovers: A Home Tour with Coua Xiong from Cozy Family Home
- Your Mannington floors
Coua Xiong, a personal coach, doesn’t have a definition for her home décor style. After building a new brand from the ground up, having her fourth baby and selling her family home she decided there were specific words she wanted to inspire the décor in her home. Cozy. Family. Rustic. Simple. Clean. Bright.
Coua realized her former home had so many quirks and things that didn’t make sense for her family, so she wanted to ensure her new home was full of functionality and joy. “We knew every nook and cranny in the new build needed to have a reason behind why it was being added, how it would be used, and what kind of feeling the space would invoke,” she says.
Coua chose to not only install Mannington floors in her entire home, but selected different types! Throughout her house she has Restoration Collection® laminate and sheet vinyl . Continue reading to find out why Coua chose these floors and how she incorporated them into her home design.
Coua found one of the most important tasks of her home remodel was picking out the right flooring. She didn’t want hardwood floors and decided on laminate for the main areas in her home – an open concept kitchen, dinette, and great room. “I chose Mannington’s Restoration Collection® Blacksmith Oak in the color Steam because the color variation is beautiful,” she says. “I love the mix of gray, brown, and beige. Plus, it is a super durable product, easy to clean, and you can’t beat the price!”

Because of its durability and easy maintenance, Coua extended the laminate into her pantry, mudroom and kids’ hallway.

For the smaller rooms (laundry and powder bathrooms), she chose vinyl sheet patterns Oceana, Color: Sand Dollar and Deco, Color: Wrought Iron. “Smaller rooms and printed flooring are the perfect match,” she says.

When people are looking for flooring, Coua recommends three key things: function, quality and color. “Functionality is key and advises you to ask yourself these questions: Does this flooring make sense here? What am I using this room for? Is this a high traffic area? What is the wear and tear? How do I clean this floor?”
She also states that the quality of the flooring is of utmost importance. “Read ALL the reviews and ask questions,” she advises. “Definitely do your homework before making a selection. I would 100% recommend Mannington floors to anyone who is in the new market for new flooring.”
As for picking out a color, that’s a personal choice. For example, Coua knew she needed a mid-tone color floor since her home is located out in the country and with country living comes dirt. Mid-tone colors are good for disguising anything that tracks in.

At the end of the day, Coua says “Design for you and your family and above all, do what makes you happy!”
